A COASTGUARD helicopter has been seen circling around Southend seafront with lifeboat crews at the scene.
Emergency services have been along the seafront this morning for reportedly more than an hour.
A flight tracker shows a coastguard helicopter circling from Western Esplanade, all the way up to Shoebury.
Martin Richardson, owner of Happidrome Arcade, said: “There was a high coastguard presence, which was joined by the Royal Navy, and helicopter.
“There were lifeboat crews to the west of the Pier. The helicopter was very low, coming along the seafront.”
It is believe Essex Police were also on the scene too.
There are yet to be any confirmed reports on the incident.
However, the coastguard and Essex Police have been contacted for comment by the Echo.
More to follow.
