Students at Colchester Institute will soon be able to test their entrepreneurial skills by taking up office space at an enterprise agency.
The Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (Colbea) has launched a new shared office space at its centre in George Williams Way, which offers start-ups and micro businesses the chance to save money while enjoying a shared working environment.
The same space, called Office 20, will also be open to students who want to test their business ideas. Bob Baggalley, Colbea chief executive, said: “We examined what we could offer and asked the question, ‘Could we provide an option for sole traders and micro businesses who need flexible work space’?
“The opportunity to provide a shared facility suddenly became the obvious solution.
“Office 20 is an innovative new idea that really does benefit all sides, providing full-equipped office space, including access to meeting rooms and Colbea business advisors, for just £20 a day.”
Colbea recently welcomed Brian Cairns to the Colbea board of directors.
Mr Cairns is the director of community engagement and funding development at Colchester Institite.
