A Southend company is launching an apprenticeship scheme for a second year.
Residential landlord the Regis Group is running a competition with the lucky winner gaining a coveted training place.
Regis is looking for bright young applicants between the ages of 16-18 with a well-rounded CV, and a sense of entrepreneurial flair.
A keen interest in property and business, as well as an interest in community involvement will also be considered.
Last year’s winner, 17-year-old Alex Dray, joined Regis Group in July 2014, midway through sixth form and for the past eight months has rotated through each of the company’s departments, gaining valuable experience across its core real estate activities.
He has attended court hearings, tribunal hearings, property auctions, valued and purchased property and generated leads, resulting in freehold property purchases.
Alex said: “Winning a place on this programme has given me a great boost. This is vital in today’s world where even a degree from a good university doesn’t guarantee anything. I am learning valuable life and business skills in a growing sector of the market.
“The work placement has given me an opportunity to develop both personally and professionally and prove myself at the same time.”
Paul McFadyen, managing director of Regis Group said: “I attach a great deal of importance to individual professional development and our apprenticeship programme supports this commitment.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and ambitious young person in the Southend area and I hope the 2015 campaign will prove to be just as successful as the last.”
Applicants for the 2015 Apprentice Scheme should send a CV and supporting letter to paul.mcfadyen@regisplc.com detailing why they wish to join the Regis Group as a business apprentice by no later than May 1.
