Ice hockey is still fairly rare in the UK, but the fan base is growing – just ask my youngest who is only a fan, but plays too. Crazy.
He hasn't got hurt yet, and the players in NHL 10 don't seem to be either, although the fights are still part of it all.
The previous National Hockey League version was heralded as a major breakthorough from all the others.
Can you believe we are now up to number 10. But this one appears to be more of a generation increase over nine, but that's no bad thing.
First person fights are welcomed by many. Half Life on ice it's not, but similar.
Multiplayer gets smoothed out some too, which is brilliant if you are on Live – great bonus playing against someone real.
The game play, I am told has been improved over the last one – thanks son. He also tells me it is slightly easier to simply pick up and play straight away.
But typical of EA, they stuff the whole thing with so many options that if you wanted, it would take two days just to get on the ice. Well, a long time anyway.
