Cool for cats as band brings the Dengie to club

THE Swamp Cats will paw through their catalogue of blues and Americana when they appear at the New Crawdaddy Blues Club.

The four-piece band make a return to the venue at the Belvedere, in Hardings Elms Road, Crays Hill, on Thursday, August 6.

Featuring guitarist Dave Richardson, Dale Baker on slide guitar, Chris Barrow on bass and drummer Tim Bale Broughton, the group have opened for the likes of Dan Baird and Walter Trout.

With a blend of blues, country and rock ’n’ roll, the band say their sound is as rich and deep as the marshland and river estuaries of the Dengies, where they come from.

Their track Weep and Moan was selected for the first Essex Delta Blues compilation by Bad Moon Records, which highlighted the best blues bands in the county.

They have also just released a new album Going With the Flow, which includes 11 self-penned songs and three distinctive covers of Tony Joe White, Sonny Landreth and T-Bone Burnett tunes.

Their show at the club is just one of many appearances, including festivals, the band are making this summer.

Doors open at 8.15pm and admission is £6. For information, visit www. newcrawdaddyclub.co.uk
