Four weeks ago I had a stroke at home. We dialled 999 and the ambulance arrived within three minutes and started treatment.
I was in the acute stroke department at Epsom Hospital within 10 minutes.
I received immediate tests and treatment and was transferred to Britten Ward.
I had excellent care and assistance and was able to return home a week later having been told what to do to recover.
Had I had to travel to St Helier or Kingston it would have taken much longer before I could have started to receive any help or treatment and consequently recovery might have been much slower and the effects more serious.
We want and need Epsom Hospital and their excellent care.
