Sarah Harding has been speaking about her new man, and has revealed that she would love to get married and have kids in the near future.
The former Girls Aloud star had been pictured with a mystery man recently, and told OK! magazine that he was a friend of her best friend’s boyfriend called Jason who she had been dating for around six weeks.
She said: “He just kept popping up in my life intermittently and after a while I thought, let’s just go on a date and see how it goes, and we got on famously.
“We like each other and we’re both having fun. It’s early days but he’s nothing like anyone I’ve ever dated.”
Sarah added: “He’s the polar opposite of everyone I’ve ever dated, which I think is a very good thing as I haven’t had much luck in the past. I’m done with DJs, actors and musicians.
“I don’t feel I can go out and date any Joe Bloggs as I get wary of people’s intentions, but for some reason I feel like he’s been placed in my path for a reason.”
The singer had said at the end of last year that she wanted to be single for a while and explained: “I just needed a break from men. I needed time to find my true self and not to feel like I was relying on a man. I don’t want to feel like I need to have a boyfriend.
“You have to love yourself before you can love someone else and I was always very insecure. After the breakdown of my last relationship with Mark (Foster), I needed time out to stand on my own two feet and become a strong woman.”
But Sarah, 33, said she was now hoping to get married and have children.
She said: “Of course I’d love to get married. I’m hoping it will happen in my thirties – marriage and kids would be good in my thirties. Two or three children would be nice – I’ll knock a few out!”
The pop star, who almost married Tom Crane previously, continued: “I think I’m a bit over it, the stress of trying to plan a big wedding like I nearly had. You don’t realise how much goes into it, so I think I’d probably go for something a lot smaller. I’d probably do it on a beach somewhere.”
Revealing that she’d love another Girls Aloud reunion, Sarah claimed that she had struggled with dance routines and thought her moves were about equal to Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell’s.
She admitted: “I do watch videos back sometimes of us all [in Girls Aloud] and I do miss it. I don’t miss the rehearsals as I’m not the best at dancing – I always had to stay a little longer. I was the Geri Halliwell of our group and couldn’t dance the best.”
