EastEnders' June Brown is hoping to take the pop charts by storm, at the age of 85, according to reports.

The star, Walford's Dot Branning, is providing vocals on a single to be released by her musician godson, Tim Arnold.

A source was quoted as saying: "June and Tim are great friends. She loves to help him out.

"She loves his music and Tim is delighted about her agreeing to take part."

Tim, 36, who is dating EastEnder Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon), uses the stage name Soho Hobo, the Daily Mirror said.

His single Soho Heroes, out on Monday, is billed as "somewhere between Blur and the Divine Comedy".

June is currently on a six-month break from the BBC One soap to write her memoirs.
