Sherlock was among the big winners at the Creative Emmys in the US, scooping four awards.

The series, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, clinched gongs for cinematography, picture editing, music composition and sound editing for the episode Sherlock: His Last Vow.

Other television shows celebrated at the event, which recognises the technical aspects of making TV, included Game Of Thrones, True Detective and Orange Is The New Black.

The awards also celebrate guest stars and TV hosts, and saw Joe Morton win an acting award for Scandal and Allison Janney honoured for Masters Of Sex.

The Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Programme went to Glee star Jane Lynch, for her work on Hollywood Game Night.

Uzo Aduba won the guest actress in a comedy prize for her performance as a prisoner nicknamed "Crazy Eyes" in Orange Is The New Black, while Jimmy Fallon was honoured as best guest comedy actor for Saturday Night Live.

Other winners included American Horror Story, The Big Bang Theory and Downton Abbey, which won the award for hairstyling for a single-camera series.
