Zaraah Abrahams has landed a role in hit US drama The Knick.

The ex-Coronation Street actress will feature as a regular character in the hospital period drama, according to The Sun.

She is said to be playing Opal in the second series of the show, which is set in the fictional New York Knickerbocker Hospital during the early 20th century and stars fellow Brit Clive Owen in the lead role.

The Knick will be seen on both sides of the Atlantic as it has now been picked up by Sky in the UK.

Zaraah, who has also starred in Waterloo Road and been a contestant on Dancing On Ice, is the latest former UK soap star to crack Hollywood.

Hollyoaks alumni Ricky Whittle, Barry Sloane and Nathalie Emmanuel have had success in the US, as have ex-EastEnders Rob Kazinsky, Ben Hardy and David Witts.
