Amy Schumer has hit back at the double standards for women and men in Hollywood.

The comic actress told Marie Claire that she couldn’t believe some of the casting decisions made when it came to other women in the industry.

She said: “I’m not an actress who gets roles because of her f***ability, but I do observe double standards. I noticed Sally Field played Tom Hanks’ love interest in Punchline then six years later she’s his mum in Forrest Gump. It’s preposterous!’.”

Talking about her upcoming comedy Trainwreck in which she plays a commitment-phobic woman, Amy added that it was still seen as unusual for women to play that sort of role.

She said: “People are in denial that women sleep around. There are so many funny, smart women in the public eye now who aren’t apologising for their behaviour, but there’s still a stigma.

“That’s why it was important for me to write this movie. My character, Amy, isn’t a girl you can label as a slut and be done with, she’s a human being. Hopefully it will make people less likely to judge.”
