After 10 weeks of kneading, proving, whipping and slicing, only iced buns, mille-feuille and showstopper cakes stood in the way of our three finalists’ victory.

So naturally tensions were running high on Twitter, and the fountains of emotion ran over when the owner of Britain’s favourite facial expressions, Nadiya Hussain, was crowned winner.

Here’s how the show went down…

Paul spoke for the nation.

Someone made a terrible mistake (sorry Ian).

Mel and Sue made a great pun.

Paul needed a wipe down.

There was fast-paced music over the #TechChal.

Someone didn’t follow the instructions (TAMAL!).

The conspiracy theories began.

Nadiya (naturally) smashed the technical.

Tamal found inspiration in the unlikeliest of places.

Ian’s kitchen shocked the world.

Nadiya’s kids stole everyone’s heart.

Ian made ANOTHER mistake.

But he cried and everyone felt bad.

Then the final judging began.

Paul called Nadiya’s wedding cake “stunning”.

Tamal’s chinese fishing village/sticky toffee pudding was bonkers and beautiful.

Ian apparently made “the best carrot cake ever”.
