Man threatened at gunpoint during street raid Man threatened at gunpoint during street raid

A MAN was left with a broken collarbone after he was threatened at gunpoint during a terrifying armed raid.

The recovery truck driver had been called to Archers Fields on the Burnt Mills industrial estate in Basildon at around 7.50am on Wednesday.

But when he got out of his vehicle he was attached by the gang of men, one of which had a handgun.

One of the gang battered the terrified man with an iron bar leaving him with a broken collarbone.

Police are now probing the armed raid.

what was he attached to?

Did they use nails, glue, nuts and bolts or a selection of screws

On a more 'competitive compassion' note for the usual critics of posts pointing out glaring editorial catastrophes without making fluffy wuffie references to the victim of crimes/accidents etc.,- I hope the poor geezer gets better soon and they catch the blokes that did it and nail them to a tree

Will be interesting to know the rest of this story. For a recovery vehicle driver to be called to an industrial estate then attacked - strange.

Oh my god he was 'Attached'!

Seriously though Echo - you really can't be in this business and make spelling mistakes. That's like KFC making cooking mistakes...salmonell
a anyone?

The bananas were late this week - the Echo's subs make mistakes when they're hungry. Plus, typing with your toes is a bit tricky.

Raid? What raid? What was stolen? No doubt he knew his attackers, after all completely random attacks like this go on all the time. Mind you, Chief Inspector Plod will say the opposite.

A slow news week in 'Echo world'

He went there for a 'Pick up' and got attached to a group of men.

Does that mean he swings both ways?

Funny how people **** here and critasize a bloke really considering he was threatened at gunpoint. A recovery truck can pick up a car anywhere doesn't mean to says its seems funny that it happened on a industrial estate people break down everywhere, Some people can make it that bit further till the car stops completely! but then again the papers never always get the right story which in that case me personally I don't think should be published till the real reason has been told. Just hope they catch the scum that did it!!!!
