Oh Dear, all this talk about killing them if they come into your house, and racist comments about Africans. God help you if you are ever in that situation. You do not have true anonymity on here and, should that now occur, you try to convince a jury that you acted in self-defense, when you have already stated your intent to murder! The trouble is, on the one hand, people are saying the police are useless then, on the other they claim they are being too rough on the poor innocent people and would do anything, lie cheat whatever just to get a conviction. What about trying for once to give the police a fair chance and then writing to your MP's to get rid of the "Can't Prosecute Service" and getting law and order back on the streets!

No matter what is said on here! If they broke into my home brandishing a knife , and I picked up a kitchen knife and drove it straight threw him that my friend is deemed reasonable force! On the other hand if they came in brandishing a baseball bat me using a knife would become un reasonable force and I would have no choice but to batter them to death with a different kitchen utensil , maybe a rolling pin or a meat tenderiser , and any talk of premeditation would become null and void as I would have been taken by surprise in my own home, premeditation refers to a person going to a specific place with pre intentions of carrying out a specific act!

You may be right of course. But, the farmer that got put away because he shot those at those two poor innocent burglars, felled his defense because he had stated clearly what he intended, should anyone break into his property again. That, coupled with the fact that the ne'er do wells were running away when the shots were fired put paid to his defence.
Perhaps all these problems would be solved at a stroke if the people who command this country would return to giving the peasants a reasonable education, reasonable pay for the work they do, and, most of all, return that work to this country. There are many who have arrived in this country who believe that theft with violence is an easy way to earn a living. But there are many that are just trying to get a few bob to pay for their weed. However, I suppose the wielding of a knife does somewhat shift any chance of sympathy away from those that do that.

The 2 buglers that were shot didn't have guns coupled with the fact as you say we're running away, becomes un reasonable force , and yes much of the problems we have are due to our pathetic politicly correct immigration laws, and joining the E.U was the worst thing we ever did! The referendom Cameron promises can't come soon enough!the uk is on a very slippery slope and mark my word civil war isn't too far away in the future if things don't change!

This sort of crime in Essex was unheard of 10 years ago yet every week in Thurrock, Basildon and Southend we read of these sort of crimes.

If I went through the Echo archives I could probably list a dozen or so stories in the past year with all the robbers being the same colour.

Were you politically aware the last time the Tories aired the idea of us all voting on "In /Out" membership of the EEC? Just in case you weren't, we were going to vote on whether we should or should not JOIN the EEC.
They took us right up to the line, then decide that we shouldn't have that vote, in case we gave the wrong answer and voted AGAINST joining.

Incidentally, do you think the right wing's vote against human rights was to get rid of petty thieves getting off with their crimes? Be very, very careful what you wish for. Elitism is not about protecting the mighty unwashed!
