Trickster poses as police officer to con bank details
4:51pm Monday 4th February 2013 in News By Gina Marden
A TRICKSTER has been conning people out of their bank details by posing as an Essex police officer.
The man calls people at random and tells them their bank details have been found in possession of people who have been arrested.
The man claims to be an officer called Sgt James Hackett and tells people to call him back on the non-emergency 101 number.
But, victims have been fooled into thinking they are calling the non-emergency number and one person from Epping Forest was tricked into handing over their bank details.

Don't understand the last two paragraphs !.
is it one of these phone cons where they don't really call 101 they just end up on the same line and speaking to the same person ?
Andy
and Sgt James Hackett just don't feel like a real Police name..well for me anyway.
