Police and crime commissioner heads for Basildon

DRUG dealing, the bail hostel and burglary are just some of the issues residents can discuss with the newly elected police and crime commissioner.

Nick Alston, who was elected to the post last November, will chair the meeting taking place in the St Georges suite of the Basildon Centre this Friday from 12pm to 2pm.

Joined by Basildon chief inspector Glen Pavelin and Basildon Council’s chief executive Bala Mahendran, the meeting will see big issues such as drug dealing, burglary and vehicle crime and the Felmores bail hostel discussed.

The session will also see residents given the chance to raise any other crime issues affecting them.

Will he be arranging any meetings for residents that work during the day, so we can have our say on the crime in our own town.

7 thefts in 18 months with no one caught and no feedback (as is my right, or so I am told while i sit for tens of minutes on hold to the police), that's all I want to say.

I wonder if Councillor Callaghan, who has campaigning for the removal of the Bail Hostel from Felmores was there voicing the concerns of his constituents?
