DETECTIVES have just released CCTV images of a knife point robbery when a man stole cash from the till of a bookmakers.

The robber entered the Coral Bookmakers in Broadway, Tilbury, around 10.10am with a knife before the cashier fled into a back room.

The man then went over the counter and took around a hundred pounds from the till.

Detectives in Thurrock hope that someone will name the man caught on CCTV in the act.

If anyone recognises the man who carried out the raid on February 27, they are asked to contact Pc James Boyce at Grays police station on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Didn't lock the till first? I thought all tills were automatically locked until unlocked for a transaction by the cashier? No alarm set off?

'the cashier fled into a back room'. Surely there was more than just one member of staff in a betting shop with loads of cash floating around and a counter that can be jumped over.
