The father of a missing St Albans man has said that his disappearance is "bizarre".
Giles Gordon-Saker, 35, was last seen in St Albans on Monday afternoon.
Originally from Norfolk, the geologist engineer now lives in St Albans with his wife.
His father John Gordon-Saker said: "It is all very confusing.
"It is totally out of character. There has never been any trouble before.
"The weird thing is that he would never take time off work without telling his office.
"It is just the most bizarre thing."
Giles was last seen wearing black or grey smart trousers and a red and white work shirt.
He is about 5ft 10 and of medium build with short brown hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the 101.
