STEVE Prescott was tonight inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame during a special presentation at Langtree Park.

The 39-year-old former full back, a two-time Wembley winner with Saints, was honoured before an audience that included past players, family, friends and club officials.

Steve is continuing his fight against the abdominal cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. Since being diagnosed in 2006, the father-of-two has earned widespread admiration for his charity work and incredible endurance challenges.

But it was in the red vee of Saints where he first became known to the St Helens public, with his two tries against Bradford in the 1996 Challenge Cup victory among the highlights.

The ex-Nutgrove amateur scored 52 times in 117 appearances for Saints between 1993 and 1997 before leaving for Hull.

The celebrations took place this evening as the players' lounge at Langtree Park was named the Ty-phoo Hall Of Fame as part of a sponsorship agreement.

Saints Hall Of Fame member and voice of ‘rugby league’, Ray French, performed the presentation, which also saw ex-Samoan prop Apollo Perelini, 44, inducted.
