Next stage of A13 diversions to start tomorrow
FURTHER disruption will affect motorists travelling on the A13 in the next week.
The latest set of roadworks will see a diversion of the A13 at The Manorway junction, Stanford-le-Hope, for resurfacing works.
Between Friday, August 30 and Sunday, September 1 drivers heading to Southend on the A13 will not be able to use the Manorway junction to turn off as works are carried out between 5am tomorrow and 5am on Sunday. They will instead have to carry on to the Five Bells junction, near Basildon, and turn back onto the A13, exiting on the opposite side of the road at the Manorway roundabout.
On Monday, from 5am, the London-bound sliproad will be closed for 24 hours. Motorists will need to go to the next junction at the Orsett Cock Roundabout and return to the A13 /A1014 junction via the Southend-bound carriageway.
Next Thursday, the London-bound off slip will be diverted from 5am until 5am on Saturday. Motorists will be directed to the next junction at Orsett Cock Roundabout and return to the A13 /A1014 junction via the Southend-bound carriageway of the A13.
Contractor J Murphy and Sons is currently increasing the capacity of the busy junction, widening it from two to three lanes.
