4:30pm Sunday 13th October 2013 in News
THIS is the efit of the man who punched a Wickford festival goer in the face, leaving him with a broken cheek bone.
The 25-year-old victim had been near to the V Stage at the V Festival when a group of men began verbally abusing his girlfriend.
When he asked them to stop, one the men turned on him and punched him twice.
The second punch knocked him to the floor.
At the time the victim walked away but attended Basildon Hospital the next day where doctors confirmed he had a broken cheek.
The attack happened on the second day of the festival, Sunday August 18, between 4.30pm and 5pm, around the time The Vaccines were playing the Arena stage.
Investigating Officer, Dc Alex Baker, said: "The couple had been at the cup collection point next to Our Garden when they were surrounded by a group of young men who began verbally abusing the woman.
“It was when her boyfriend asked them to stop that one of them turned on him and punched him twice in the space of a few minutes, with the second punch sending him to the floor.
“It is a very distinctive-looking efit and we’re confident someone out there can name him.”
The attacker was white, is in his 20s, of a toned, muscular build and at the time was wearing a white vest and long denim shorts.
Anyone who recognises the man in the efit or who has information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Essex Police’s Chelmsford police station on 101.
