THREE people, including a five-year-old boy, were injured in a terrifying crash at the Orsett Cock roundabout in which the driver of one vehicle involved failed to stop.
A Ford C-Max ended up on its roof after being forced to swerve to avoid another vehicle on a slip road leading to the roundabout.
The driver of the other vehicle - who had pulled out from behind a stationary highways maintenance vehicle that was placing a diversion - then drove off, leaving the battered Ford on the embankment.
A man, a woman and a five-year-old boy from Romford were taken to Basildon Hospital and treated for whiplash type injuries.
The crash happened on the A13 Southend-bound exit slip for the A128 at around 9.15pm on Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Mark David at Chigwell road policing unit on 101.
