A MAN who died in a road crash in Laindon on Friday has been named.

David Willard, 55, from Kilmartin Way in Elm Park, near Hornchurch, was involved in a collision at Fenton Way in the Southfields Industrial Estate, Laindon, sometime before 9am that morning.

He had been travelling in a blue Vauxhall Astra which hit the wall of specialist tools supplier Stanton Hope.

Mr Willard was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses who might have seen what happened to come forward.

They are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit of Essex Police on 101.
