AN angry resident called on the council to sort out drainage issues after her back garden was submerged.
Jo Jones’ home, in Matching Green, Basildon, backs on to fields off Cranes Farm Road.
But the land flooded in the downpour and 2ft of water seeped into her back garden.
She said: “This isn’t the first time it has happened and every time it is an expense for me because the council hasn’t bothered to put any drainage in the field.
“There’s about 2ft of water outside and my garden is ruined.’’ She added: “The water is getting close to my house and my worry is if it begins to rain again, it’ll come into the house.
“I’ve phoned the council but all it said was my insurers will pay out.”
