Police hunting gang of men after man stabbed in Basildon park

A MAN was stabbed during an assault in Basildon.

The man was walking through a park off Luncies Road at about 12.20am on Saturday, January 18, when he was approached by a gang of men.

They started shouting at the victim before punching him in the face and stabbing him in the arm with an unknown weapon.

The man, in his 30s and from Basildon, was taken to Basildon Hospital.

He had surgery on his injuries and is recovering.
