A GROUP of college students have raised more than £175 for Basildon Hospital.

Teenagers at Seevic College, in Thundersley, walked for three miles in fancy dress to raise money for the Puffin and Wagtail children’s wardl.

Chloe Fuller, 19, from Pitsea, helped organise the walk.

She said: “I’m really proud to have helped raise so much money for the hospital.

“It’s great to know children at the hospital will benefit from our hard work – hopefully this will make their stay at the hospital a little bit more fun.”

Student Ruby Hare, 17, also completed a sponsored silence for the day.

Jerusha Murdoch-Kelly, paediatric matron at Basildon Hospital, said: “We would like to thank the students of Seevic for their efforts to raise funds for our children’s wards. It is really thoughtful of them to give up their time to do this.

“The money raised will go towards helping to improve facilities for children, and their families, who need to spend time in hospital.”
