Residents say man was stabbed in fight
6:00am Thursday 17th April 2014 in News
TWO teenagers have been arrested after a mass brawl broke out and a man was allegedly stabbed in Thundersley.
Police and ambulance crews rushed to The Rundels, off Hart Road, shortly after 6pm on Monday, April 14, after a number of calls concerning a fight in the street involving a group of young men.
Residents yesterday reported seeing a man being stabbed.
Police have refused to confirm or deny the report, although they said a knife had been recovered at the scene.
The police helicopter landed at the site and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault. Two men, aged 18 and 19, were beaten up during the fracas.
Ambulance crews treated the mens’ injuries on site. They were not taken to hospital. Kerry Green, 32, of The Rundels, witnessed the attack and said she thought one of the victims had been stabbed. She said: “I was at home and I heard a commotion outside so I went to see what was happening.
“ I looked out the window to see a group of people on the green only 20 yards away and then I saw punches being thrown.
“The group must have been fighting for about 15 minutes and I saw one person hit on the side of the head and had blood pouring from his nose and mouth.
“I only moved here last week and it is awful to know this kind of thing happened right outside your front door.”
The woman said another resident later found a yellow top in a dog waste bin, which they believe was connected to the incident.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “The juveniles were later questioned by police and released on bail until Friday, May 23.”
