A PETROL station in Rayleigh is set to be demolished and rebuilt with a shop and car wash, if a planning application gets the go-ahead.
The application to Rochford District Council will see the Grange filling station and bungalow on London Road, Rayleigh, demolished to make way for a new petrol station.
The new station would have a canopy to cover the pumps, a car wash and a two-storey building with shop on the ground floor and a four-bedroom flat above.
Proposed plans are of a modern nature, with the roof of the building in a pressed metal finish, to replace the current bungalow.
The site is currently run by Harvest Energy, with a Mace convenience store in the bungalow.
Existing access to the site off London Road will remain, with part of the land used as 15 parking spaces.
