TEACHERS are taking on the trek of a lifetime to raise money for charity.

Fourteen teachers at the James Hornsby School, in Lainster Road, Laindon, have signed on to walk the three peaks – the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales – in 24 hours.

They are hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, the school’s chosen charity.

Teacher Jamie Shields said they were looking forward to it. He said: “We’re nervous but looking forward to it. Hopefully, people will donate. It’s hardly a walk in the park.”

Staff will attempt the challenge later this year. So far they have raised more than £400.
