A SWEET-TOOTHED burglar stole £5 of Coca Cola from a house in Basildon.

Thieves broke in to the property in Sains between 1pm and 2.40pm on May 3 by forcing the french doors.

They stole a box of Coca Cola from one of the bedrooms.

The house’s TV had been moved in to the garden.

Witnesses spotted a suspicious male hanging about by the house’s back fence a number of times during the afternoon.

He was slim build, had a tattoo on his neck, was wearing a grey hooded top, three quarter length shorts and an electronic tag around his ankle.

Anyone with information should contact Essex Police on 101.

This has got to be the best story I have read in a long time! You couldn't make it up. When I did a burglary I stole about £500 cash and 2 rings. Not a coca cola bottle! Was it really worth it? Hmmm..

I thought those tags had GPS so the police/courts could be sure they were where they were meant to be. If that is the case it shouldn't be too hard to trace the suspect.

Because someone standing around is not a crime. Even if they was called there would be f!uck all the pigs could do.

They dont have GPS, i think the new ones they give terror suspects might do. They just alert the serco office if the tag goes further than a set distance from the box they install in your home between certain hours
