A VILLAGE has become the first area in Rochford to have every road covered by Neighbourhood Watch.

Every street in Stambridge has signed up to the scheme as part of the parish’s community building programme, which aims to bring residents and businesses together to protect their neighbourhoods.

George Ioannou, chairman of Stambridge Parish Council, said: “We are delighted to become the first parish in Rochford to be 100 per cent compliant on the Neighbourhood Watch scheme in the fight against crime.”

Jo McPherson, Rochford councillor responsible for the community, said: “It is fantastic news that Stambridge has been able to achieve this.

“It just goes to show how working together as a community can really make a difference to the environment we live in. I would like to congratulate Stambridge Parish Council on this achievement and for all the hard work that has gone into making this possible.”
