THE inquest into the death of man who went missing from his Laindon home has been opened.
Brien Chambers, 39, went missing from his home on September 4, and was found three days later on grassland in Willowfield, Basildon, off the A127, after an extensive police search.
Mr Chambers, who was also known as Paul Summerfield, is understood to have committed suicide after suffering depression. After his death, his partner Kate Lander launched a campaign to raise funds for mental health charity, Mind.
Yesterday Essex coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray opened and adjourned the inquest into his death. A provisional cause of death was given as hanging.
The inquest is set to resume on Monday, December 15, as long as test results have been returned in time.
