FUNDRAISERS are being asked to swim, cycle and run in the name of charity.
The annual St Luke’s Hospice triathlon takes place next month and organisers are urging residents to get involved.
The race, at Blackshots Swimming Pool, in Grays, starts with a 400m swim in the pool, followed by a 20K cycle and 5K run.
All money raised will go towards funding the hospice, in Nethermayne, Basildon.
Linda Viccars, from event sponsor Port of Tilbury, said: “It is a fantastic event, which we are honoured to support and be a part of. We hope the sporting community will once again support the hospice and join this brilliant challenge.”
Teams of three are welcome to enter. On the day there will be fitness stalls, refreshments and a massage tent. Every participant will receive a medal and trophies will be awarded to first, second and third individuals and teams.
To join the event, on Sunday, October 12, call 01268 524973, or register at stlukeshospice.com
