A MOTHER grieving the loss of her still-born daughter had to be sectioned as she could no longer cope with Katie Ringer’s sickening messages.

Drewe Lock, 20, of Suffolk Avenue, Leigh, was subjected to sickening taunts about her dead baby after she started seeing Ringer’s ex-boyfriend in August 2011.

Drewe received offensive messages about her previous miscarriage, but when she got pregnant again, she could only watch as Ringer used her baby scan pictures to make false profiles and pretend she was expecting.

Drewe lost one of her babies in April 2012 while second twin, Sapphire, was still-born in October that year, leading to Ringer stealing precious photographs of Sapphire to send them back to Drewe with sick comments on them.

At the same time, Ringer was telling others it was her baby and she needed money for the funeral.

Drewe said: “As soon as I saw the messages, I burst into tears. I had 200 photographs of Sapphire and she stole every single one.

“It’s had a really big impact on me, to the point where I have tried to take my own life because I couldn’t deal with it any more.

“A few weeks after Sapphire’s funeral, I was sectioned for two days because of these horrible messages.

“I turned to drink and drugs, I thought it was the only way to cope. When I was out of it, I put Katie to the back of my mind. That’s when I could focus on Sapphire and try to grieve.

“I took cocaine, ecstasy, pretty much anything.

“I still haven’t been able to grieve yet. I don’t know when I will be able to.”

Echo: Evil: Katie Ringer

Drewe, who has now given birth to Cody, aged one month, added: “I think she realises what she’s done to me, but she has no remorse for it.

“I spoke to her on the phone once and she just laughed. She was doing it as payback.

“She understands the consequences of it, because she knows what she’s going to court for.

“I do always look at the photographs of Sapphire, but the memory of that has been ruined.

“When I see them, I just see the offensive comments plastered over them.

“She even took the scan photographs of Sapphire. Even before she was born, she was ruining her life.

“I think this sentence will be some sort of closure. I hope I am able to grieve now.”

MOTHERS BRING RINGER TO JUSTICE

APPALLED mothers joined forces across Britain to bring Katie Ringer to justice.

After Laura Acheson shared the news that her premature baby Tommy had been used to front one of Ringer’s charity scams, Tracey Garner, 37, from Lincoln, and Lee Cassidy, 35, from Edinburgh, felt compelled to do something.

They had seen the horrifying news posted on Facebook group AJ’s Journey about another Scottish premature baby who was born at 23 weeks.

The group has more than 86,000 followers and AJ’s mother, Kerry McPhee, shared information far and wide via the group.

They created the Mums Against Baby Scammers group on Facebook, and publicised it on AJ’s page.

It caught the eye of Shoebury parents who were being sent defaced photographs of their own children and they linked it back to Ringer.

After much surveillance, they confronted Ringer and got her to confess to her sickening behaviour.

Mum of three Tracey, who runs the group with Lee and other mums, said: “We just started off being nosy and now we have managed to get a conviction.

“I feel quite proud we have made a difference and something has been done. It makes us determined to keep going.

“Regardless of how many hours we worked on it, over 1,500 members were involved in sharing information. We may run the group, but it was all of us that have brought her to justice.”
