Users of an outdoor adventure park have protested outside Basildon Council's office in a last-ditch attempt to save the venue from closure.

Action Park, based off the A127 in Wickford, has been told it must close by May 13.

The site was developed without planning permission and is located on green belt land.

But owner Philip McCaul argues the venue is vital for groups, including youngsters and disabled people, who visit on a regular basis.

Action Park users gathered outside the council offices in St Martin's Square today to ask the authority to reconsider its decision.
