A 25-year old man was robbed at knifepoint in a Basildon underpass - in broad daylight.
The victim was walking through the underpass in St. Nicholas Lane, heading towards the Pipps Hill Retail Park, when he was approached by two men.
One of them punched him and threatened him with a knife, before making away with his wallet.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon, at 1.15pm.
The victim was not injured, but the duo ran away with his wallet.
The man with the knife was described as white, more than 6ft tall and of stocky build.
He was aged in his late 20s, had black hair and wore a black hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
His accomplice was white and aged in his late 20s.
Anyone with information is asked to call Dc Simon Hinde at Basildon CID on 101.
