FIRE crews attended a derelict building on fire yesterday.
The blaze happened in a building at the back of South Street, Rochford.
Fire crews were called at 4.50pm.
Two fire engines and police attended the scene.
Reports came in of thick black smoke blew towards Rochford District Council Offices.
The building was 70% damaged by fire.
Two crews attended, one from Southend and a second from Rochford Fire Station.
