THE Conservatives have held onto their control of Rochford District Council in an election which has seen five other parties also claim seats.
The Tories had held 26 of 39 seats on the council, but yesterday's vote has seen its total number of councillors reduce to 21.
All 39 seats on the council were up for re-election, with the results being announced today.
The election saw Rochford District Residents claim six seats, while the Lib Dems and Ukip each won four seats.
The Green Party now has three councillors, while Rayleigh Independents also have one councillor.
