Cliffs Pavilion and Palace Theatre have both announced exciting shows and tours hitting their stages soon - here is a round-up of events you can catch soon.

Miles Jupp: On I Bang

Miles Jupp brings his touching story of undergoing surgery for a brain tumour to audiences at Southend's Palace Theatre on Monday, February 26. 

The award-winning stage actor will be exploring his down-to-earth thoughts on his sudden diagnosis, with On I Bang promising to be a show about surprise, fear, luck, love and qualified medical practitioners.

Tickets are available for £27.25


Damian Lewis

A-list actor and musician Damian Lewis - best known for starring in hit show Homeland - is performing at the Palace Theatre next month.

Lewis and his band are set to come to the London Road venue on March 10 in support of his debut album, Mission Creep.

The album has been described as a “thoughtful collection of rootsy, rock and jazz-tinged songs that reveals a deep love of music, and a deep need to communicate”.

Tickets to see Damian Lewis and his band at the March 10 show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £30.


The World According To Kaleb

Star of Clarkson's Farm, Kaleb Cooper, will be visiting the Cliff's Pavilion on Thursday February 29 for his first ever theatre tour.

With often unwitting humour, deadpan delivery and unique observations, Kaleb will be giving audiences the chance to participate in unique rural pastimes during the show while highlighting the challenges many farmers face.

Tickets are priced at between £27.50 and £39.50.


Beyond the Barricade 

Beyond the Barricade, the UK's longest running musical theatre concert tour is holding a 25th anniversary show in Southend's Palace Theatre, in London Road, on Sunday March 3.

Songs featured in the show are taken from The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, The Lion King, Blood Brothers, Miss Saigon, Hamilton and many more, climaxing in a spectacular finale from Les Misérables.

The concert features David Fawcett, who plays Valjean in Les Mis, Andy Reis, Katie Leeming and Poppie Tierney together with a live band. 


Tony Hadley - The Big Swing Tour

Lead singer of the iconic 80s band Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley will be performing some of the greatest swing songs from a classic era of music at the Cliffs Pavilion next month.

This will include hits from artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, along with reworked classics from his own repertoire including True and Gold.

Tickets for the March 19 show range from £40.25 to £125.25, with VIP meet and greet tickets available. 


The Simon and Garfunkel Story

The international hit show is coming to Palace Theatre following sold-out performances in London’s West End, a worldwide tour and standing ovations.

Using huge projection photos and original film footage, the renowned show also features a full live band performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more.

Tickets for the July 16 show cost £37.


Leigh Francis - My First Time Tour: Work In Progress

The comedian best known for his famous Keith Lemon character will be trialling his new shows in Southend this month - ahead of a nationwide tour as himself for the first time.

Leigh Francis has kept millions of people laughing for years as Keith Lemon - with his hit TV shows including Celebrity Juice - and now, he is embarking on a 26-day trip around the country as himself.

The 50-year-old comedian, from Leeds, will be launching the new shows at the Palace Theatre on February 27 and February 28, where his various characters will be brought to life for the first time in a live environment.

Tickets range from £19.75 to £24.75, depending on pass band selected, and are online sales only.


Romesh Ranganathan

After a sell-out tour in 2022, Romesh is back with a new show coming to the Cliffs from Sunday, April 28 to Monday, April 29.

Best known for The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, The Ranganation, Rob & Romesh Vs, A League Of Their Own, Avoidance, Romantic Getaway, host of Weakest Link and his own BBC Sounds and Radio 2 show For The Love Of Hip Hop.

There is a 14-plus age restriction for this event, with tickets costing £34.50.


Joe Pasquale

Fresh from his success as Smee in the Cliffs Pavilion panto last year, comedian Joe Pasquale is celebrating 40 years of showing off on stage with a show at the Palace Theatre.

The August 29 event includes a Q&A, and tickets start at £24.60.


 Iain Stirling

The BAFTA-winning comedian Iain Stirling is bringing his razor-sharp humour back on tour with a new stand-up show for 2024.

As the iconic voice of Love Island, star and writer of sitcom Buffering on ITV, Iain is hitting the road, with a stop at the Palace Theatre on April 11, in his biggest tour to date.

Tickets cost £27.


Gladys Knight - The Farewell Tour 

Nicknamed the “empress of soul”, Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer Gladys Knight is coming to the Cliffs Pavilion on July 3 and 4 as a stop on her farewell tour this summer

The seven-time Grammy Award winner will be stopping off in Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Swansea, Bournemouth, Nottingham and Southend.

For this tour Gladys is joined by special guest Mica Miller, who has picked up Jazz FM’s Soul Act Of The Year Award, and previously supported artists including Lionel Richie and Gregory Porter.

Since she began her career in the 1950s performing with The Pips, Knight has recorded more than 40 albums and enjoyed number one hits on the pop, gospel, R&B and contemporary charts.

Tickets for her Southend show cost £65.25 to £75.25.


Lee Mead and Friends

Lee Mead and Friends are coming together with Mushroom Theatre Company to celebrate their 20th anniversary at the Palace Theatre.

With songs from Lee, West End star Kerry Ellis, and performances by ventriloquist and America’s Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin, along with the students and children from Mushroom Theatre Company who are raising funds for the charity Equal People Performing Arts.

The charity aims are to promote inclusion within the industry and the wider community.

Tickets range from £22 to £24 for the October 27 fundraising event.


Paloma Faith: The Glorification of Sadness Tour

Set to perform her most personal album to date, fans will be delighted to hear that, to celebrate this next era in style, Paloma Faith will be bring her nationwide "The Glorification Of Sadness" tour to Cliffs Pavilion on May 15.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 7pm and there will be no support act.

Tickets range from £40.25 to £114.25
