A man has raised more than £3,000 for a Basildon charity in memory of his late grandfather.
Mason Iley successfully completed the Brighton Marathon, raising a commendable £3,352 for Peaceful Place charity, based in Timberlog Lane, which supports dementia patients.
A spokesman for the charity said: "A huge round of applause for Mason Iley who completed the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for Peaceful Place, gathering an impressive total of £3,352.00.
"Mason selected Peaceful Place in honour of his late grandfather, Peter Hadley, a participant of the Peaceful Place Dementia Activities Club.
"This marathon marks the third occasion Peter's family has raised funds to support Peaceful Place, and we extend our heartfelt thanks, especially to Jackie, Peter's wife, who is a significant champion of Peaceful Place.
"We are immensely grateful all who supported Mason in his fundraising efforts and to the entire family for their ongoing support of our work."
