CAMBRIDGE TOO CLASSY FOR INJURY-HIT BBHC

BBHC put up a spirited display on Saturday against Cambridge Universitys young team, but still went down 2-0.

There was little to separate the teams in the first half until a collision of players resulted in Sue Moore leaving the pitch with a bloody eye, which later needed stitches.

Minutes later, BBHCs sweeper Julie Somers-Bayley was hit in the chest by a lifted, driven ball but without another substitute, she was forced to battle on bravely despite being in obvious discomfort.

And in the closing moments of the first half, BBHC went a goal down after a super shot was hit into the roof of their net by the Cambridge centre-

forward.

A controversial penalty flick, awarded to Cambridge in the second half, deflated BBHC who were unable to recover from the two-goal deficit, although they went close to scoring a consolation when a shot was deflected away by the

university keeper.

League games have now finished for the Christmas break and do not resume until January 20.
