Lakeside cash boost for school


LAKESIDE’S shops have donated £3,000 of sports equipment and sponsored coaching sessions to a school for children with severe learning difficulties.

The West Thurrock shopping centre has made the donation to Beacon Hill School, in Erriff Drive, South Ockendon, is to help pupils compete in this year’s Panathlon Challenge, a national Olympic-style event for youngsters with disabilities.

Sophie Scott, marketing manager for Lakeside, said: “We hope they get many hours of enjoyment out of their new sports kit.”

3.5 million is being used to create a wildlife and ecological haven in the heart of south Essex when children with severe learning difficulties have to rely on donations of sports equipment and coaching to help them achieve their dream of competing in the Panathlon Challenge!
