Grand ball raises £10,000 for Parkinson's disease support group

A CASH boost to the tune of £10,000 will help Parkinson’s disease sufferers.

Members of the Billericay and Wickford Parkinson’s Disease Support Group raised the cash by hosting a black tie ball at Orsett Hall in Thurrock.

The money was handed over by members of the support group, who meet at Christ Church, Perry Street, Billericay, on the third Saturday of every month, to a representative of the Parkinson’s Disease Society.

Parkinson’s is an incurable condition of the brain, affecting movement including walking, talking and writing.
