Basildon hospital has been fined £50,000 over the death of a severely disabled young man.
The hospital was also today ordered to pay £40,000 legal costs following a hearing at Basildon Crown Court.
The hospital admitted a breach of safety rules in its care of Kyle Flack, 20, who died following a tragic accident in October 2006.
Blind and deaf, Mr Flack, of Corringham Road, Stanford-le-Hope, was quadriplegic and had cerebral palsy.
He died when his head became trapped between his hospital bed rails.
