I don’t totally dismiss the Basildon Sporting Village, as at least we will have a new pool.
But instead of an Olympic-size pool, that probably most people in Basildon would find it hard to swim the length of, I would have liked the council to have considered its residents and built a pool for the community.
Some of my family live near Bristol, where there is a beautiful pool, with an area for toddlers and babies. It has no steps, just a gentle incline which is suitable for young and old.
