I read that there is to be a huge development, including 163 homes, at the Stambridge Mill site in Rochford. You couldn’t make it up.

I know this area well and it can be subject to flooding and, yes, it’s on the expanding airport’s flight path.

I am not sure what the Inner London Group is doing, proposing to develop this small rural area, because clearly it hasn’t a clue about the struggling road system and infrastructure surrounding the Rochford area, which can barely cope with traffic at the moment.

This scheme would cause utter chaos, and no mention is made of this in the group’s vague statement.

In spite of the group representative’s comments, this is not a well thought out scheme. I wonder if the spokesman has ever visited Stambridge.

Rochford Council, to be fair, does try to preserve our green areas wherever possible and must, on this occasion, throw this proposal out and tell the Inner London Group to stay in London.
