Over the last 13 years, 4,000 new laws have been passed, causing concern among civil liberties organisations.

Unfortunately a great many law-abiding citizens have been snared by fines that are arguably needed to pay for said enforcement.

The alienation of such a large swathe of people towards the law is causing concern within the legal system that citizens feel they are not governed by consent.

One suggestion put forward is the market should govern by introducing a system whereby citizens should take out private prosecutions against even serious alleged wrongdoers.

The financial rewards to the legal system speak for themselves, while they wash their hands of the integrity of any responsibility.

Politicians would no longer have to make tiresome speeches about the morality of justice. The poor will not be able to pay anyway, so the taxpayer will and the rich will be able to buy as much justice as they want.
