A TALENTED 12-year-old has followed in his brother’s footsteps by landing a role in an upcoming film.
Mitchell Davis, whose brother appeared in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, will be the body double for lead actor Perry Eggleton in new British comedy drama Will.
The film, released on October 21, is about Liverpool supporter Will Brennan’s journey across Europe to watch his team play in the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul.
Mitchell, of West Thorpe, Basildon, filmed all the backwards-facing scenes for Perry, because of legal restrictions on how many hours the young actor could work.
Mitchell said: “At first I was a bit nervous about it, but as soon as I got to know everyone I was fine.
“My brother was a really big influence for me. He kept talking to me about his acting, and said that it was a really fun thing.”
Mitchell, who attends Woodlands School, in Takely End, Basildon, was head hunted for the part through Rascals Child Model Agency.
The Arsenal fan travelled to London, Paris and Turkey to film with Bob Hoskins, as well as Liverpool FC legends Steven Gerrard, Kenny Dalglish and Jamie Carragher, who also star in the film.
He added: “I just had to try and forget about being an Arsenal fan for a while.”
Mother Tracy Davis, 43, who travelled with him to the filming sites, said: “This has been such a great opportunity for him.
“He has met so many different people, and has got to go to several different countries. His confidence has really grown in the past three weeks.”
Mitchell and his parents will be attending the premiere of Will in Liverpool on Sunday.
