HORDES of Coryton workers have gathered to protest outside the Vopak terminal over the sale of the oil refinery.

On Saturday morning workers and their families held a demonstration outside tyhe terminal in Purfleet to demand a public inquiry into the sale of the refinery.

The refinery has been sold to a consortium including Vopak, Shell and Greenenergy but the deal will see it turned into an import terminal, meaning most of the 850 jobs provided by Coryton will be axed.
