A MAN has been charged with assaulting four people during a fight in Aveley.
Martin Wall, 20, for High Street, Aveley, appeared at Southend Magistrates Court this morning (July 28) charged with one count of wounding without intent and three counts of assault by beating.
It comes after police had been called at 10.20pm on Wednesday, July 25, with reports of several people injured following a disturbance in Aveley High Street.
Four people were injured, one man, aged 32 from Grays, with a serious head injury, who was taken to Queens Hospital in Romford where he remains. Martin Wall was later arrested and charged.
Detectives still need to speak to a woman driver who stopped at the scene and gave first aid to the seriously injured man. She should contact Det Con Nick Phillips at the Serious Crime team on 101.
